Jun 10 2024 Super Summer Favorites!
It’s beginning to look a lot like summer, and it’s been a while since I’ve done a favorites post, so here are a few to kick off this sublime season.
Summer Reads:
Read this one by the ocean. It has such a unique premise, featuring an octopus named Marcellus. This book is captivating and full of heart. The characters and relationships are complicated and endearing – lots of feels here. My friends say it is great on Audible. Some language and mild sexual themes. https://amzn.to/3x2ACmI
I love a cozy mystery, and this one takes place in San Francisco. I laughed out loud following Vera, the comical main character, as she tries to solve a murder and builds heartwarming relationships. I want Vera in my life. PG-13 language. https://amzn.to/3KHuPqd
This was a book I read into the late hours. It is a captivating, tension-filled, and heavily atmospheric story. I love a Gothic and mysterious novel (one of my favorites is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier), and this one delivered. https://amzn.to/3x3CCv0
I am rereading this series and adore revisiting Mitford. It is hitting me where I need it these days. Sweet relationships, a sense of place, and community are a soothing blanket and a needed peaceful escape. https://amzn.to/4aQ1Aft
Movie and Music:
I went to see this movie recently with my dear friend. We found it an encouraging, faith-filled story with an inspirational matriarch. It is now streaming. Also, check out the fabulous soundtrack. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4vPFnseWwFaQq1muf0JvPf

Accessory:
My mom has this purse, and I have this purse. Two friends have ordered it after seeing mine. It is functional, neutral, and light. So many people ask me about it, so I thought I’d share.
APP:
I recently re-discovered this app, which feeds my soul during a challenging time.
I pray your summer is starting in the loveliest way. May these favorites of mine add a bit of fun to your season.
Blessings to you!

I think I will revisit Mitford this summer. I haven’t read one for years. Thanks for mentioning the wonderful stories. I love the stories and characters and because of that I always wanted to move to Mitford.
