Fun Springtime Favorites!

Fun Springtime Favorites!

Happy Spring!

My world is bursting with beauty after weeks of much-needed rain. It’s been a while, so I wanted to share some of my recent fun finds and favorites.

Apps

During this season of Lent, I am memorizing scripture and am finding help with this great tool called Verse Locker.

Fellow word nerds like me might enjoy a vocabulary-building app called  Vocabulary. And it’s pretty, too.

Amazon Finds

These pens have become my go-to for journaling.

Puzzle in progress. It’s a lovely alternative when allergies are pushing you inside.

My friend Steph recommended these camping lanterns/flashlights during the California wildfires. They are great.

I’ve given a few of these hummingbird feeders as gifts. They are beautiful and come with food.

Books

I purchased this Thinline Bible to bring to church (my pastor uses the ESV to preach from), Bible study, and speaking engagements since my beloved Bible is falling apart, and I can’t carry it around anymore. There is also a large print version.

I recently finished The Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club. It is a delightful historical fiction set in 1919 in an English seaside village. WWI has just ended, and the community is adjusting. The story is told from different points of view, but mainly from Constance, who works as a helper to an older wealthy woman. This book is full of girl power (hence the title) and poignant interactions. PG. I gave it 4+ stars.

Are you a history buff? I sincerely enjoyed The Small and the Mighty: Twelve Unsung Americans Who Changed the Course of History from the Founding to the Civil Rights Movement. This is another book crammed with girl power! I was deeply inspired by the heroes and grieved again over the treatment of some of this country’s citizens. 4 stars. Mild language.

I’m finishing up Anxious People by Frederik Backman for book club, and I plan on reading How to Read a Book next for an online group.

May your season be filled with all your favorite things.
